Psychotherapy
"My Approach"

As a psychotherapist, I work with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance dependence, eating disorders, and self-injury. These issues tend to coincide with low self-esteem and relationship problems with family and friends. For many individuals it is difficult to admit that help is needed in order to sort through their challenges. Even more, when people do make the decision to seek assistance they may be unclear about what to expect from psychotherapy.

All sessions are 50 minutes and are based in the safety of a warm and supportive therapy environment. Phone sessions are also available depending on the circumstances. You can contact me to discuss my current fee. I do offer limited sliding scale appointments based on your income and ability to pay. I am an ethical and trustworthy psychotherapist. Your confidentiality is of utmost importance.

I specialize in working with adolescents / young adults and their families. I help them explore alternate ways of living and being. Often they tend to be “stuck” in unhealthy ways of relating to one another. Of course, every situation and case is unique, and thus different treatment techniques will apply. I draw from various therapy modalities and am eclectic in approach. I tailor treatment to each client’s presenting problem, their needs, and goals in order to provide symptom relief. In many cases, I examine what triggers the problematic behaviors or feelings with the client. We then observe the consequential effects on their actions, thoughts, and words. Many emotions tend to surface, including hurt, pain, and resentment, which are processed during the course of psychotherapy.

With all my clients, teens and adults, I bring forward their strengths and increase self-awareness so that they are better able to make genuine life decisions. I assist them, either as individuals or within the family, to develop clear communication, healthy boundaries, and trusting relationships. Together we discuss new possibilities. Over time my clients tend to exhibit a more positive attitude with preferable thinking and choices.

My commitment to improve the quality of people’s lives inspires me. I hope to be of assistance to those needing the support of psychotherapy. My private practice is in West Los Angeles. Please feel free to contact me at 310-569-2302 or via email..
